August/2025 - Annual trip west:

Backpacked 45 miles in Yellowstone for inspiration, the physical challenge, my own sanity and to capture images for my next body of work. The area of Yellowstone we trekked was relatively flat till reaching the Lake Wapiti loops… but beautiful in its own infinite, sultry way. The weather could not have been more perfect, 70-80 degrees by day, 40-50 by night with a few scattered thunderstorms adding a surround-sound effect as they rolled through the valleys. I was able to capture more than a few amazing cloud and light studies and the scent of wildflowers and sage that piggy-backed off the continuous prairie breeze gave solace to the heat of day completing all sensory stimulation needed for an extraordinary experience.
